Thousands of people sail to La Paz every year. The calm, warm, azure waters of the Sea of Cortez provide for excellent sea kayaking, snorkeling and scuba diving. Nearby uninhabited islands add to the excitement with their coral reefs, private sandy coves, and rich marine life that includes whales, sea lions, dolphins, exotic tropical fish and abundant sport fish.

Nearby Isla Espiritus Santo has been protected as an uninhabited sanctuary. The island is an oasis of secluded coves, dramatic sandstone cliffs and coral reefs teeming with exotic tropical fish. Just off the island's north shore you'll find a rocky island that provides a home for a thriving sea lion colony. They seem to enjoy swimming with people!

A number of experienced outfitters provide daily excursions into the watery playground that surrounds Paraiso del Mar. The best options include snorkeling, scuba diving, sea kayaking and sport fishing.
